Peñíscola, the city of the "Moon Pope"
Peñíscola is a medieval fortress, with a very well preserved castle on a rocky peninsula, going about 1000 m into the sea. On it is located the Old City, protected by big walls that partially surround it, due to the fact that high cliffs are already an impenetrable natural protection on the sea side.
In all history, only three cities have been Papal Sites: Peñíscola, together with Avignon and Rome.

Today Peñíscola is one of the most attractive touristic centers in the mediterranean coast. The first thing that visitors see on arriving in the city is the big castle. Peñíscola can be enjoyed during many months of the year, in its warm waters and long beaches, besides many leisure offers for the familly and the children.
Romantic and majestic, with its siluette going into the Mediterranean Sea, Peñíscola invites us to walk on its thousand years old streets and to learn its history feeling the fascination of past times. Today, Peñíscola is a sea town, in which all traditions have been kept, and inviting the traveler to live the intensity of the Mediterreanean in this privileged place.
Peñíscola has a modern Palace of Congresses less than 300 m from Hotel La Cabaña.
Our hotel is in a privileged spot in Peñiscola, from which beautiful views of the north beach and the West wall of the castle, almost 200 m away from the hotel, can be enjoyed from almost every room.
